Our First Grizzlies Game

Warning: These pictures are taken with a camera phone.
Not the best but we captured the moment!

For my birthday Chris and Chelsie they gave Dave and I tickets to the Grizzlies game. They got the best seats-front row up against the glass. Our first hockey game and it was a blast!!!! We
went to dinner and then to the game but we were like an hour early. So we watched the team warm up and was like a little kid all giddy. Chris told me to tap on the glass and ask one of the hockey players for a puck. Sure enough he gave me one. I was on cloud nine thinking how cool it was. I got startled a few times because we were so close and they would slam each other into the glass. Hockey players are brutal.

The first 3 seconds into the game they broke out in a fight and about every 10 mins the seemed to be one after another. Very entertaining unlike some sports there is always excitement.

After the first quarter all the mascots got on the ice and goofed around with the crowd. They danced to the Y.M.C.A. The U of U mascot came over to our side and tried to get Dave to participate. He just sat there like a bump on a log. Ignoring the bird and the bird started making fun and taunting Dave. Dave pointed to the bird and flapped his wings like a chicken. The mascot gestured to Dave that he was gonna slit his throat. You know your dead kind of thing. All in fun.

The quarter started and one min we are watching the game the next minute.........................

Dave is getting a can of silly string emptied on him! It was hilarious!!! Even more funny was the people around us got silly string in their beer. The sick thing was there was this lady took most of it out and still drank it. Now that's devotion.

The Grizzlies won 5-2!!!! The tickets are not bad to buy they have tickets $10 on up. Our tickets were about $32 because we were on the first row. They even have a family section that no drinking allowed which I thought was cool. They also let anyone skate around the rink after the game. To top it all off we got 2 hockey pucks on was signed and four tickets to a Bees game. So our fun will continue on!!!!

I am a Fool

It is just not funny to name your child April when they are born on April Fool's Day!!!!! Where is the humor in that?

So, I kept my radar on all day. I always get fooled in someway or another but.....this year was not my year. Dave got punked and of all people by the bishop! I wasn't feeling so good that morning and Dave had not got his shopping done so he decided to take Maile with him while I rested. He was out shopping when he got a phone call from none other than the bishop. Bishop told Dave that last night he had a dream and he didn't know how to put it but.....in his dream he saw Maile and him leaving the Distribution center and Dave had got into a car accident. So he told Dave not to go anywhere. Bishop asked where Dave was and he said I am at the Distribution center with Maile. Bishop said that he felt like he should have called sooner but he got caught up with work. Dave said he stood there not sure what to do or say. And then Bishop said,"April Fools - I saw you walk into the distribution center I thought it would be funny" They sat there and talked and as Dave was leaving bishop told Dave to drive safe! Ha Ha Not so funny if it really did happen!

Dave and I tried to think of ways to get bishop back and we didn't come up with anything good enough so we have a year to come up with a plan. Any Suggestions?

Later after the girls got home from school we headed out to dinner. We landed at Texas Roadhouse {{Yum}} Dave and I have gone a few time but not with the kids. We figure that it is a loud environment so my Dallin would right fit in {Wink}!!!

Tell you what - that is the worst place to go on your birthday. Dave mentioned to the waitress that it was my birthday and soon after that I realized I was in the wrong restaurant. She asked me my name and how old I was. And she brought out this saddle that I had to sit on and the yell, "WE HAVE APRIL AND SHE JUST TURNED 32" I was totally fine with the name but the yelling of the age come on. I kept on hearing April Fools all around me. And the worst part of being named after a month is that the jokes do stop there. Months before and after when I go to work and people see my name tag they come up with some lame joke about my name. I am sure if they had a name tag on their name would be lame like Harry Pitts or something worth laughing about.
Sorry I must have some bitterness in me with my name or something.

Here are a few pictures

Maile will not feed herself at least not at home. She decided to use a big fork and she thought she was sooooo cool. It was kind of dangerous.

And here all the waitress line dancing (didn't mean to get them turned around) Of all the time that we have gone not once have they dance while we have been there except this time. Maile got down on the floor and was dancing and clapping. It was a fun night. Minus the saddle ride and screaming of my age.
I turned to Malulani and asked her if she wanted to come to Texas Roadhouse for her birthday (knowing how she is) she said, "NO, never" LOL! I didn't need to ask Aubree or Dallin because I knew the answer but I did anyway if they wanted to go there and they can't wait to go there for their birthday.

YUMMY S'mores!

This is what we love to do! Roasting marshmallows in our backyard. Although is gave us an itch to want to go camping. This is the next best thing if we can't go camping. I love these next few months because Dave loves to cook in the dutch oven. Which lets me off the hook for dinner! So if anyone is up for a warm fire to roast marshmallows.... just bring your roasting sticks!!!

Temple Dedication

Sunday we Malulani, Dave, and I went to the dedication for the Draper Temple. This was Dave's and Malulani first dedication. I have been to the Denver temple so I knew what to expect.

I got to tell you seeing your child grin from ear to ear is the best. We were able to go through the temple for the open house and I figured this is a good start to what can happen for Malulani. She will be twelve in about a year. So she will be able to go to the temple soon. After the broadcast there was a video of the inside of the temple. It has been a couple of months since we have been inside of it. As the video was playing Malulani kept on saying ,"I went in there, ....and oh I love that room, ....and that was so pretty" she went on and on. She couldn't stop smiling. I loved to watch and listen to her! I can't wait until she gets to go and do baptisms.
